Lower Foxhangers Farm, Rowde, Devizes, Wiltshire

Lower Foxhangers is a 90 acre "evolving" farm, with a canal-side wharf offering narrow boat and a marina of 40 boats at the base of Caen Hill Locks. Colin and Cynthia Fletcher welcome you to a relaxing holiday in our self catering holiday mobile homes or on our campsite.
We are situated beside the canal towpath, now an all weather path suitable for cycling or a pleasant stroll. The flight of locks is one of the wonders of late eighteenth century engineering and this provides a fascinating half hour walk to Devizes.
Lower Foxhangers is situated in central Wiltshire within easy reach of the famous stone circles of Avebury and Stonehenge. Wiltshire villages are a delight, the character changing throughout the county, according to local building materials. The Georgian city of Bath is only fifteen miles distant, Bradford on Avon smaller and less formal, has a small town charm while many people believe the Cathedral Close in Salisbury is an unequalled delight.
Camping : Our small campsite at Lower Foxhangers comprises two small paddocks, both of less than one acre. One of these which is slightly sloping is used for members of the Caravan & Camping Club while the other is used for tents. Six of the caravan pitches have electric hook-up and the shower and toilets are situated about forty yards from the field. Please note the electricity supply is suitable for lights, television etc., but not suitable for heaters, electric kettles and immersion heaters.
The Kennet & Avon canal passes within 150 yds of the campsite, and we are situated at the bottom of the famous flight of twenty-nine locks. The towpath at the side of the locks makes a pleasant and varied walk to Devises, which takes about half an hour and has been resurfaced suitable for cycling between Devises and Bath. The fishing in the canal is very good, and the canal is well stocked with carp especially. It is not unusual to hear of catches between 10lbs and 20lbs. I have Devises Angling Association fishing licenses for sale at a cost of £9.00 for two weeks or £3.50 per day (juniors half price).
Mobile Homes : We have four mobile holiday homes pleasantly situated in the farm orchard among fruit trees and mature gardens and I hope you will agree this is borne out by the photographs.
The orchard is in a quiet setting about 300 yards from the public road. The Kennet & Avon canal passes nearby and we are situated at the foot of the famous flight of twenty-nine locks. The towpath at the side of the locks makes a pleasant and varied walk to Devizes and has been resurfaced suitable for cycling between Devizes and Bath. The fishing in the canal is very good, and the canal is well stocked with carp especially. We can provide Devizes Angling Association fishing licenses if required.
