Fisherground Farm Campsite, Eskdale, Cumbria

Fisherground Campsite is set right in the heart of Eskdale, one of Cumbria's loveliest valleys. Here on the West side of the Lake District we get less rain and more sun than our famous cousins the other side of Scafell. In this quiet valley there is still the Peace and Tranquility that should be Lakeland - but rarely is in the bustling centres. Here there are still more sheep than people.
Peace is the watchword on the Campsite too. We are a quiet family site and every effort is made to ensure silence after 10.30pm. As we don't take bookings, except for the electric hook ups, we look forward to welcoming you when you arrive.
The Service Block is modern, clean, airy and spacious. For each sex there are :
4 washbasins
4 showers (50p coin-op)
hand drier (warm air)
hairdryer
5 flush toilets (ladies) and 4 toilets plus 3 urinals (men's)
There are also 6 deep sinks for washing-up. Hot water is free throughout (except the showers) and always available.
Laundry : The Laundry has a washing machine, three tumble driers and an ironing board with an iron. Most of the machines are coin operated and take 50p's. We also have a new boot drier for those of you who love walking whatever the weather.
Cleaning : The Service Block is cleaned routinely throughout the day and is maintained to the highest standards.
There is also a freezer available to freeze your ice packs.
The Adventure Playground : A children's paradise, with rafts on the pond, a tree house, a zip wire, Tarzan ropes, and an adventure course.
Additional Services :
Camp Fires : Camp Fires are allowed only in the existing fire places. No extra fires are to be made. Sacks of dry logs are available on site.
Electric Hookups : We have a number of electric hookups available - prebooking to use these is essential.
Village Shop : The village shop and post office, Eskdale Stores, sells a comprehensive range of goods, including groceries, fresh fruit and vegetables, food to go, alcohol and newspapers.
Miniature Railway : We have our own station on the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway (15' gauge, 7 miles long). As this connects with Ravenglass mainline station it is quite easy to come and camp without a car. (Ask on the Miniature Railway for Fisherground stop).

We have 215 pitches for tents available.
