Gill Head Farm is a working hill farm offering caravan and camping and bed and breakfast accommodation, situated in Troutbeck, near Keswick and Penrith, and set against the spectacular backdrop of Blencathra and the Northern Fells.

Having a lovely rural setting, we are ideally situated for a relaxed and peaceful holiday within the Lake District National Park far from the maddening crowds.

With panoramic views of the surrounding fells we have a level, sheltered caravan and camping park with well cared grounds run to a high standard.

There are both grass and hard-standing pitches, each with electric hook-ups.

We have a modern, spacious and well maintained shower, toilet and laundry block on site and there is a small shop from which you can get milk, bread and farm fresh eggs etc.

Pets welcome, areas set aside for dog walking. Booking is essential on Bank Holidays. Takeaway breakfasts are available. Gas exchange.
Great play area for children. New log cabin providing a meeting, eating area with TV, microwaves and undercover barbecue area etc.

We are popular with both families and walkers.

Our location means we are surrounded by great walking country and there is an endless list of activities to do and places of interest to visit within the local area.

Gill Head is aworking hill farm and offers a peaceful location within the beautiful Lake District.

Lake Ullswater is only 5 miles away and the nearest town is the traditional maket town of Keswick sitting on the shores of Derwentwater.
the popular resorts of Grasmere, Ambleside and Windermere are each within a short scenic drive.

We are surrounded by excellent walking country for all abilities from walking along lake shores to long hikes on the fell tops. There are many other activities available in the area such as fishing, pony trekking, activity centres, steamer cruises, golf...the list is endless! You will also find many places of local and historic interest to visit nearby.

So whether it's action on the lakes and fells or simply a quiet corner in which to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery you will be sure to find it here and the relaxed and friendly atmosphere here at Gill Head will make your stay in the Lakes a more memorable one.
