Another attraction that is new and bringing visitors to the region in their droves is the Alnwick Castle Gardens, the brainchild of the current Duchess of Northumberland, rebuilding and adding to the old garden which was dug up to be used in the war effort, now beautifully sculpted around the magnificent cascading water fountain, the largest in a European Garden. This has to be seen in person, to be truly appreciated.
The Castle itself is a magnificent site, parts of which can be seen in the Harry Potter films, as it was used as a set for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
