Riverside Village Holiday Park, Wallasea Island, Rochford, Essex

Who would not love to have a holiday home in a "village" atmosphere in the heart of the Essex countryside. As Riverside you will find a warm welcome amidst immaculate facilities in a friendly neighbourhood. Subletting is not allowed, so you can enjoy peace and tranquility without unknown strangers next door. Dogs are welcome and can use the special dog walks provided, however they must be kept on a lead on the Park and any accidental fouling cleared up.
Situated in 24 acres alongside the River Crouch, seven miles north of Southend, the Park is licensed for 175 static holiday homes and up to 50 tourers or tents from March 1st to November 1st annually.
All homes have full mains services and a 13amp electric supply, cooking is by Calor gas. Grass is always well maintained by the staff, but many owners prefer to tend their own gardens.
Small shop onsite for essentials.
Tourers and Rallies enjoy the same welcome and high standards on our adjacent 5 acre field and have 10 amp electric supply on the DeLuxe pitches.
Riverside was especially created not to be a "commercialised" Park with clubhouse, entertainments etc. Consequently, the atmosphere of a friendly "weekend and holiday retreat" is maintained. The toilets are always cleaned to a high standard and a well equipped laundry is provided. The adjacent Ferry Inn and Wardroom both serve excellent snacks and have first class restaurants, where Sunday lunches are especially recommended.
The Park has its own slipway and moorings for small craft and the Essex Yacht Marina is next door to the Park, making Riverside ideal for water activities such as windsurfing, fishing, paddling or simply messing about on the river.
The ferry to Burnham-on-Crouch and the boat trips to see the Seals gives everyone a chnace to get onto the water. The nearby Clements Hall Leisure Centre is one of the finest in the country with facilities for almost every sport imaginable. There are many pleasant walks on seawalls and footpaths, several ending up in "Olde Worlde" Inns, all serving excellent food.
Rural Essex has a wealth of history to be explored. Canewdon church tower provides wonderful views and the village stocks and pillory are well worth a visit.
Lion Creek Nature Reserve, 5 minute walk away, offers the opportunity to study local wildlife and a large variety of birds in all peace and tranquility.
