Crystal Lakes Leisure Centre, Fenstanton, Cambridgeshire

Crystal Lakes opened in the summer of 1993 and operates from March 1st to the end of October.

The park covers around 12 acres of meadowland and small but beautifully mature fishing lakes. The site is very picturesque and although completely secluded is only a matter of a mile from the A14 between Cambridge and Huntingdon. The village of Fenstanton is 10 minutes walking distance and the historic market town of St Ives is 25 minutes. For the less energetic, however, a cycle track right outside the park will take you to both. Fenstanton and St Ives can also be access by public footpath across the meadows.

Fenstanton is well server with a butcher, two general stores, baker and newsagent, fresh garden produce and free range eggs, two hairdressers, and an excellent fish and chip shop – not to mention four village pubs, all of which serve excellent meals.

The village of Fenstanton is halfway between Cambridge and Huntingdon on the A14.

Fishing : Lake “A” is approx. 2 acres in size with a good selection of coarse fish example (last years weights) : Carp (36.5lb), Tench (7 lb),
Rudd (2 lb), Bream (10 lb), Roach (2 lb), Pike (14 lb), Crucian Carp (4 lb), Mirror Carp (32 lb).

Mixed catches of 60 lb plus are possible on Lake “B”, while on Lake “A” Carp from 15 to 25 lb are of ten caught with recorded biggest 31 lb Common and 31 lb Mirrow up-to-date.

From 2006 there will be an indoor and outdoor childrens activity centre.
