Limeburners campsite is set behind an attractive old inn which dates from the late 16th century. The inn was once three thatched cottages housing families whose men folk worked the lime kilns. Remains of which were found adjoining the stables. Limeburners is a quiet and small camping & caravan site. Established 50 years ago it is still run by the Sawyer family today. Situated just one and a half miles from Billingshurst Village centre with its banks, shops and supermarket an easy walk away but the campsite remains far enough out to be peaceful and quiet. Set in 2.75 acres, the flat all grass site is bordered only by other fields and is within easy reach of the Arun water way with the south coast resorts of Bognor, Littlehampton, Worthing and Brighton only a short drive away. The 40 pitch site has all the expected amenities including Toilets, showers, waste disposal, gas sales, hot and cold water and electric hook ups. As would be expected, Tents, Caravans, Trailer Tents & Motor Vans are welcomed as are children and dogs. Dogs must be leashed at all times. Nearest food shops 1.5 miles. Nearest beach 18 miles. We are a small family run farm, set in 40 acres of picturesque rural countryside. Our camping field is a quiet grassy meadow backed by tall trees and a carp lake. A short walk along the public footpath will take you to the river Adur and 25 mins further to “The Royal Oak” country pub in Wineham (Good Pub Guide 2005). The nearest town is Henfield where you can pick up The South Downs Link, an excellent walking/cycling route which runs between Shoreham Beach and Guildford. We are 20 minutes from the seaside city of Brighton, where you can shop in famous cobbled Laines or eat out in one of its many diverse restaurants and lively bars and pubs or spend the day on the beach. There are hourly boat trips from Brighton Marina where you can spend a couple of hours fishing for mackerel to BBQ later for dinner. Whether you choose to relax in the peace and quiet of the West Sussex countryside or busy yourself with the many surrounding attractions, no doubt you’ll have a lovely stay and have found a hidden gem to visit for many years to come. If you're a bowler, you'll know about Worthing, for it's where the English Bowls Association has its Headquarters, but you don't have to bowl to enjoy Northbrook Farm. In Worthing itself there's the Lido on the seafront with rides and a restaurant, and by the pier a paddling pool and a swimming pool. Daisyfields is a family run campsite on the outskirts of the town of Littlehampton in West Sussex. It is within easy reach of some of the county's best sporting venues, such as Goodwood for both the Motor Racing and Horse Racing, Fontwell Race Course and several of the county's best Golf Clubs. Littlehampton offers sailing from the Yacht Club with further moorings along the new harbour development. There is Polo at Cowdray Park, Midhurst which is just over half and hours drive. The site is within reach of Petworth House, Goodwood House, and the Medieval town of Midhurst, as well as the historic town of Arundel just ten minutes away. It is also within reach of some excellent fishing facilities, both sea and river fishing along the Arun as well as several inland lakes and fisheries. Situated on the A27, Portsmouth and Southampton are within easy reach as too is Brighton to the East.
