Limeburners campsite is set behind an attractive old inn which dates from the late 16th century. The inn was once three thatched cottages housing families whose men folk worked the lime kilns. Remains of which were found adjoining the stables. Limeburners is a quiet and small camping & caravan site. Established 50 years ago it is still run by the Sawyer family today. Situated just one and a half miles from Billingshurst Village centre with its banks, shops and supermarket an easy walk away but the campsite remains far enough out to be peaceful and quiet. Set in 2.75 acres, the flat all grass site is bordered only by other fields and is within easy reach of the Arun water way with the south coast resorts of Bognor, Littlehampton, Worthing and Brighton only a short drive away. The 40 pitch site has all the expected amenities including Toilets, showers, waste disposal, gas sales, hot and cold water and electric hook ups. Blacklands is a family run farm set in 40 acres of picturesque Mid-Sussex countryside. Both our camping fields are situated in secluded, grassy meadows, surrounded by mature trees (mostly oaks). The bottom camping field is backed by an area of picturesque lakes. The nearest town is Henfield, around two miles away. Here you can find a supermarket, several restaurants, a post office and most major banks. Henfield also lies along the South Downs Link, an excellent walking/cycling route running between Shoreham Beach and Guildford. The Royal Oak country pub at Wineham (featured in the Good Pub Guide) is a pleasant 20-30 minute stroll away. We are just 20 minutes’ drive from Brighton, famous for its beach and pier, cobbled laines, and a multitude of popular restaurants and lively bars. Pleasure and fishing boat trips depart hourly from Brighton Marina. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area for children, including Washbrooks Farm and Southwater Country Park. Ellscott Park is set in 8 acres of level Sussex countryside. It has 40 electric hookups, and is licensed by the local authority for 50 touring vans and or tents, it has a modern toilets with showers complete with disabled facilities. Ellscott Park is situated on a well sheltered site with a separate designated field for ball games, bikes, flying kites. Dogs on leads are welcome. We are only a few miles from outstanding costal beaches and the beautiful Cathedral City of Chichester with the renowned Festival Theatre, and are surrounded by beautiful countryside, ideal for walking and cycling, for a relaxing time to be had by all. Convenient bus routes run close by offering services to Chichester and the beautiful beaches at The Witterings. There are a number of Pubs locally, the closest is the Bell 3 minutes by car and 20 minutes on foot. There is also the Crab and Lobster, Black Horse, Blacksmiths Arms and Anchor Inn. If you're a bowler, you'll know about Worthing, for it's where the English Bowls Association has its Headquarters, but you don't have to bowl to enjoy Northbrook Farm. In Worthing itself there's the Lido on the seafront with rides and a restaurant, and by the pier a paddling pool and a swimming pool.
