Glanllyn Lakeside Caravan & Camping Park, Balla, Gwynedd

Our caravan and camping facility near Bala, Wales, has to be the most beautifully located site you have ever visited in the UK. We are located in a beautiful part of Wales, the Snowdonia National Park. The small market town of Bala ( Wales, UK ) is a convenient 3 miles away from us. There are shops, restaurants, modern leisure and water sports centres, restaurants, pubs, take-aways etc. and we are only an hour or so from Chester, Shrewsbury, the Wirral etc. A narrow gauge railway runs alongside the lake from Bala to Llanuwchllyn. There are 2 golf courses and a sailing club in Bala.
The Tryweryn National Whitewater Centre, which is famous for its rafting and canoeing, is 5 miles away and has to rank as one of the best courses in Wales, or the UK.
The beautiful beaches of Barmouth and Fairbourne can be reached in 45 minutes by car and Snowdon is 1 hour away.
Glanllyn-lakeside caravan and camping park offers extensive views of the nearby Aran and Arenig mountains and the 16 acres of level parkland makes it the ideal spot to pitch a caravan, motor-home, tent or trailer tent.
Glanllyn-lakeside has modern facilities including a new shower block with free, hot, all-day showers. There is a launderette and dish-washing area.
We have plenty of electric hook up points for caravans motor-homes and tents. The well stocked camp shop sells basic supplies, gas, maps of local walks etc.
There is also a Children's Playground.
Water sports & Activities : Our large shingle private beach offers easy access to launch boats, canoes and sailboards. Boat storage available. Sailing permits available on site.
Bala lake ('Llyn Tegid’ in Welsh) is 4 miles long and 0.75 mile wide. It offers excellent coarse (fresh-water) fishing with pike, roach, perch, grayling and eels being the fish most commonly caught.
Glanllyn Park is ideally situated for hill walkers being close to the foot of Aran Benllyn mountain, also Cader Idris mountain, the Arenigs and Berwyn mountain ranges are nearby.
Our local market town of Bala is on the borderline between North and Mid Wales therefore, very central for sightseeing numerous attractions of both areas.
The Tryweryn National Whitewater centre, famous for its rafting and canoeing, is 5 miles away and there is tuition available for all types of water-borne activity.
