Black Mountain Caravan Park, Llanddeusant, Llangadog, Carmarthenshire

Whether you are seeking a peaceful retreat, a family break or a quiet place to rest whilst the many activities available locally this idyllic location in on of the most unspoilt mountainous regions of Britain is sure to surpass all expectations.

This small family run caravan and camping park is located in the Brecon Beacons National Park on the border between Carmarthenshire and Powys. The site has received wide acclaim for its unrivalled views over the spectacular Fan Brycheiniog, the beginning of the Carmarthen Fans, in this location so notes for its scenery that is has been used for the filming of major productions including King Arthur by the Disney Corporation.

We also have facilities for a small number of tourers and motor homes. Advance booking is essential during summer months as out letting fleet is small and we restrict the number of touring pitches to preserve the atmosphere of this special site. A further two fields away from the caravan park are available for camping and our rural Black Mountain location make the site a perfect base for those working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

We are open for the full 12 months of the year ensuring that we cater for all.

The site has the benefit of being situated next to a Red Kite Feeding Station and is therefore ideal for those keen on bird watching as the kites circle overhead throughout the day. There is a rich variety of birdlife to be found on and around the spectacular sight particularly on a crisp winter’s night (check the weather forecast).

Take a day off from mountain walking – a drive of approximately one hour will take you to a variety of exciting places including the city of Cardiff with its numerous attractions including The Museum of Welsh Life, the Millennium stadium and Cardiff Bay. Heading south The Gower Peninsula is in easy reach, as is Pembrey Country Park and the Millennuim Coastal Path at Llanelli. To the west the world – renowned coastline of Cardigan Bay with its many opportunities for dolphin and seal watching is a trip not to be missed. Boat trips to explore the coastline depart from Abeaeron and Newquay.

Local attractions include spectacular waterfalls, caves, The Dolaucothi Roman Gold Mine, fishing, pony trekking and for the keen gardener we are situated only a short drive from The National Botanical Gardens of Wales and Aberglasney Gardens.

The Park incorporates three fields covering an area of some 6.5 acres with panoramic views in all directions. One field accommodates our static caravans and has electric hook-up points for tourers on grass or hardstanding pitches, whilst two further fields are also available for tourers and tents.

At all but the busiest times visitors may choose their preferred location within the park and the expanse of space available ensures that we have no need of measured pitches within white lines.

We welcome families and small groups; however we do ask that our guests keep noise to a minimum after 10pm to preserve the peace of the site for all.

So whether you wish to stay for a single night, a longer period or to enjoy amore luxurious holiday in one of our static caravans then we will be able to help. Short breaks are also available.

Well behaved family dogs are welcome in the park although we do insist that the cleanliness of the site is maintained and that dogs are kept on leads at all times.

Our site has a small number of static caravans which are available for hire, as well as facilities for tents and tourers. There are also a few pre-owned static caravans for sale and pitches may be made available for new static caravans purchased through our supplier.

There is ample room for un-crowded camping over a total of 6.5 acres.
