Orwell Meadows, established in the late eighties on an 18 acre park is situated in the Heart of Suffolk against the vast Orwell Country Park and Estuary. Walk the many miles on different routes in unsurpassed beauty. Our location is ideal, approx. 1 hr. from the M25 and only 5 minutes from the A14 Ipswich, Felixstowe and the Heritage town of Woodbridge are close by. Orwell Meadows is family owned and run, with friendly and helpful staff. The Reception is well stocked with local tourist information and ideas for days out in beautiful Suffolk. The park is not "commercial" but we have excellent facilities : Modern shower block. Small Shop - Open daily during the season. Clubhouse - Restaurant, Patio Terraces, Family Room & Lounge (opening times vary, please check when booking). Swimming & Toddler Pools, Play Area (new in 2007). Shower Block - No expense was spared in the design and construction. Spacious family sized shower areas, safe pre-mixed controlled showers and separate facilities for the disabled. Reception & Shop - At Reception you can pre order freshly baked French bread. The Shop stocks most day to day essentials including a good range of confectionary, cold drinks and ice creams. Calor gas is available when the shop is open. The clubhouse, at peak times, offers weekend entertainment and themed events for adults and children alike. The Park has been carefully developed with additions and improvements made yearly. Seasonal pitches are extremely popular here at Orwell Meadows and we often have a waiting list, so pitches are subject to availability. Our small fleet of static holiday caravans are continually being updated from great value standard models to our premier range. All models are well equipped with domestic size fridge, cooker, and remote control TV/DVD's. Duvets and pillows are supplied, all you need to bring are duvet covers, pillow slips, bottom sheets and towels. The units are hired on a weekly basis from Saturday to Saturday. Short breaks are sometimes available during quieter periods of the year Explore the Coastline of Suffolk and the Heritage Towns and Villages of Framlingham, Aldeburgh and Snape also the Historic Towns of Ipswich and the seaside town of Felixstowe close by. Felixstowe sits at the end of a peninsula between the estuaries of the River Orwell and Deben on the East coast not far from the historic town of Ipswich with its many attractions and modern shopping centre. Suffolk is rich in a variety of things to do and experience. There are many visitor attractions in some of England's most uncluttered countryside. Suffolk has a superb heritage coast. Suffolk Sands is at the end of the promenade and is a friendly and enjoyable Holiday Park where relaxation is the word. The main Park area has lovely level grounds and has open spaces for our visitors' enjoyment and a children's adventure area just across a quiet road in our main complex adjacent to the promenade and beach. The main complex was an old Manor but now houses the main bar and entertainment centre. There is a comfortable lounge with uninterrupted commanding views over the sea. We have a bistro food bar, snooker room, children's play room and a family entertainment and amusements room. Either side of the Manor House there are holiday homes, most with commanding views across the promenade to the sea. Just a leisurely stroll away is the promenade, lovely gardens, the Pier and cafes.
