The Dell Touring Caravan & Camping Park is located 4 miles east of the historic town of Bury St Edmunds. The park is situated between the villages of Thurston and Beyton in 6 acres of level ground surrounded by trees and fields. We have an excellent new shower block which is heated for year round comfort with good disabled facilities. The Dell is easily accessible from A14 and A143 which makes it an ideal base to explore both Suffolk with its picturesque medieval villages such as Lavenham and Norfolk with the famous Broads. It is within an hour of a largely unspoiled 45 mile coastline much of which is managed for conservation offering broad views, lovely walks, fine bird watching and charming seaside villages. Lavenham (7 miles) has a magnificent 15th Century church and many timber framed buildings, including its exhibition on local history and delightful walled gardens. Polstead (1 mile) is noted for the 'Red Barn' murder of Maria Marten in 1827, Britain 's most celebrated historic murder. Kersey (2 miles) is a pretty 'postcard' village with a ford crossing the main street - a painter's paradise! Flatford Mill and Willy Lots Cottage were captured on canvas by Constable and are located in the Stour Valley at East Bergholt. Over 6 acres are set aside for camping and caravans with 75 pitches widely spaced in the parkland setting. We welcome tents as well as touring caravans, camper vans and motorhomes. The centre of Saxmundham is just half a mile away along well lit streets and has a good range of pubs, eateries including take-away's, shops and a national supermarket.
