The Caravan Park is situated on the edge of a working sheep and beef upland welsh family farm. John, Viv and Jimmy extend a warm welcome to you all. Adjoining the park is the village of Penybont. A village steeped in history. A Main droving route, and the site of one of the largest fairs in the early 19th Century. The site overlooks Penybont Race Course, which plays host to Penybont Races on the first Wednesday in August. This is one of the oldest trotting races in Wales and well worth attending. Llandrindod Trotting Races has also moved to the racecourse and this is held on August bank holiday. Dolswydd is on the edge of a pretty, traditional working farm. Peaceful and tranquil, with fine views of the Welsh hills and surrounding area. It has modern facilities and 25 good spacious pitches mainly on hard standings, all with electrical connections (16A). The park is within walking distance of the local pub which offers good home cooked food. John, Viv and Jimmy extend a warm welcome to their park, which is ideal as a touring base or for a one night stop, but booking is advisable during busy periods. During your visit it is well worth walking up Llandegley Rocks to experience the stunning views over the park and the surrounding area. You are within walking distance of the local Public House and Garage. Also worth visiting is the recently restored Thomas Shop. A 20 minute car drive and you can be at the famous Elan Valley. This area hosts five reservoirs, which supply the city of Birmingham with Water. During July the local town of Llanelwedd near Builth Wells plays host to the Royal Welsh show. This is reported to be the largest agricultural show in the country and well worth visiting. The site also hosts a small holders weekend in May, which is worth taking the family to. The Judges lodgings in Presteigne is just a 20 minute drive away and gives a fascinating insight into life in the 1870’s. This award winning museum gives an insight into both the upstairs and downstairs life in the judges lodgings. The Small Breeds Farm Park and Owl Centre is a magical place to experience animals, birds, and owls. Enjoy a few hours of pure simple pleasure in an enchanting place where the rest of the world just doesn't seem to exist. The town also holds the national Cycle exhibition. Groups by arrangement.

Cringoed is ideally located amongst the very best of scenery in mid-Wales, a perfect location for exploring the lakes and mountains and within easy reach of the sea amidst a vision of tranquillity surrounded by undulating hillsides lies the village of Llanbrynmair. Turning left onto the B4518 heading towards Staylittle and Llyn (lake) Clywedog you will discover Cringoed. Crossing the bridge into the park over the rippling river Twymyn you arrive at our family run park in its idyllic location. The magic of mid-Wales embraces you upon arrival. A stay at Cringoed combines the opportunity to relax in a quiet environment, whilst remaining within easy reach of locations north, south and west. The A470 passing through Llanbrynmair connects Newtown with Machynlleth – the Gateway to Snowdonia. The Cambrian mountains run north to Cader Idris, and south to Plymlimon, where the sources of the rivers Wye and Severn rise. The sea is close too, from the university town of Aberystwyth, home of the national library of Wales, to the South West to the beaches at Aberdovey and Barmouth with their wonderfully uncrowded sands, sweeping up to Harlech with its spectacular castle and on North to Caernarfon. Our site is split with a vast, level, touring field, and static caravans set amongst the woods. Tourers and campers have a choice; riverside isolation, under the oak trees or closer to the amenities. The facilities are modern and well equipped with hot showers and electric hookups for up to 50 caravans. Campers are particularly welcome, with extra facilities to make your stay pleasant and comfortable. A childrens play area and games room make for a lovely family break. Places to visit include the Centre for Alternative Technology, RSPB reserves, Corris railway museum, Cletica and Llyn Clywedog. There are leisure centres and golf courses in Machynlleth and Averdovey. Pony trekking, fishing, clay pigeon shooting and sailing all nearby. The area is ideal for walkers and birdwatchers; artists too. The villages and towns have a welcoming feel, so you can simply unwind, enjoy the beauty of the countryside of pack your days with all kinds of activities.
