Our site is a pleasant, level, landscaped 15-acre park set in the heart of Robin Hood Country. The landscaping has been sympathetically done and encourages a huge variety of wildlife into the park. We have a number of well established mature trees and we are continually planting to extend the large range of wild flowers making the site an enjoyable experience for the naturalist. Walking, cycling and fishing are pastimes well catered for and can be followed by excellent refreshments served at local country pubs and restaurants. Our pitches are screened with shrubs and borders for privacy. The open planning of the Park helps to create a spacious feeling with all pitches being generously proportioned: all have electric hook-up with a minimum 16A electricity supply. Modern heated facilities include washbasins, showers, hair dryers, separate dish washing and laundry rooms. There are separate self contained washrooms and showers for the disabled. Additional fresh water, waste disposal, chemical disposal and Motor Home service points are situated around the Park. Nearby Attractions : Newark- A pleasant market town, was a Royalist stronghold during the Civil War. Lincoln- Lincoln offers the visitor a combination of extensive history and modern city life along with the opportunity to visit the magnificent 11th century Cathedral. Southwell- The National Trust ‘Old workhouse’ is situated on the outskirts of Southwell and at nearby Upton is the Horological Institute with its unique Clock and Watch Museum. Sherwood- The excellent visitors centre at Edwinstowe offers you a chance to appreciate the wonders of this once massive forest. There's a great feeling of spaciousness here, for the site is on 20 acres within 4000 acres of parkland where you can walk, cycle or ride. Children will enjoy Clumber Park as it is part of what was once Sherwood Forest, and there are plenty of reminders of the Forest's most famous resident, Robin Hood. Call at the Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre, 10 miles drive from the site, to find out all about him, and to see the Great Oak where he is said to have hidden, and then visit Nottingham to experience a most imaginative audio/visual exhibition called 'The Tales of Robin Hood'. You are involved in scenes including a horse ride and a rescue - the children love it. Important Information For those Members who wish to arrive on New Years Day, please note that the Site Office will be closed. Situated in a quiet unspoilt location, on the outskirts of the old market town of Tuxford, Orchard Park is just one and a half miles away from the main A1 trunk road, making it an excellent overnight stop, or base for visiting the many attractions around Sherwood Forest. Orchard Park is a mature fruit orchard set in the quiet Nottinghamshire countryside, a lovely setting for a Caravan and Camping site. It has been carefully planned to retain the orchard as it has been for many years. The caravan pitches have been laid out to give our visitors as much natural privacy as possible. A quiet area at the top the orchard has been left to grow naturally for some years now, with careful management, it is a pleasant nature walk, with wild flowers, birds and butterflies. For the children there is lots of room around the site to run and play, and an adventure play-trail style playground. Facilities on Site : Orchard Park has been designed with great care to provide our visitors with many modern day caravanning and camping facilities, whilst retaining as much of the old fruit orchard as possible. The facilities include : electrical hook up points (for all pitches), several water taps and a specially designed spacious centrally heated amenities block with free showers, free hair dryers, 24 hour hot water and a separate disabled shower room. Also a well equipped laundry room and a separate vegetable preparation area. There is also a site telephone, separate games field and dog walks. Calor Gas, Dairy Products, Ice Cream and general day to day needs are available at reception. There are three mini supermarkets open from 8 am til 10 pm, a pharmacy, post office, newsagent, takeaway fish and chips, take away Chinese, and a sandwich and hot snacks shop.
