Wayside Caravan Park, Pickering, North Yorkshire

Wayside Holiday Park is a sophisticated holiday destination, close to the market town of Pickering with its famous Steam Railway.

Peace & tranquillity is abundant at Wayside providing a retreat in which to relax and recharge. This luxury Park is set in a rural gem of green pasture with wooded fringes perfect for those who want to escape.

You can unwind in the comfort of your own holiday home, have a romantic weekend or explore the historic walled city of York, visit the Moors, Yorkshire Wolds or the hidden beaches of the Yorkshire Coast.

By purchasing a holiday home at Wayside you join the ‘Wayside Family’. The Park is still run by the founding family members, who pride themselves on running a hands-on friendly efficient park to ensure your visits are as relaxing as possible.

If you are a touring caravan owner, we have a small designated area at Wayside Holiday Park where you can enjoy all that The North Yorkshire Moors and Yorkshire Coast have to offer.

There is a green area to gather for a picnic, plenty of space in which to discover the local wildlife and the local pub is within easy walking distance.

All touring and motorhome hook ups are close to the required facilities so if you are coming for a short break or a longer stay, Wayside has all you need for a great stay. Park Director Trevor Jones with his wife Angela are on-site providing any help or advice to make your holiday as relaxing as possible

Your holiday home setting gives easy access to explore the Yorkshire Coastline from Whitby to Spurn Point, taking in Robin Hoods Bay and Flamborough Head along the way. If you prefer stunning views whilst walking or cycling across The North York Moors, then Wayside is in a wonderful position, only taking minutes to get to Dalby Forest, with its national cycling routes or to famous historical destinations like Rosedale Abbey. The market town of Helmsley is half an hour away, an excellent place to while away the hours on market day looking through the stalls and enjoying a coffee.

With the historic walled city of York just a short drive to the South West you can visit its magnificent Minster. Browse through the narrow streets, including The Shambles, and take a well-earned rest at Betty's Tearoom, before calling into York's Designer Outlet to pick up a bargain on the way home!

For those wanting to explore further afield, then the little known Yorkshire Wolds with its rolling hills and valleys, quaint villages and hamlets such as Thixendale and fine historic houses such as Sledmere House should not be missed!
