Places to visit include The Kymin, once visited by Lord Nelson and now owned by The National Trust it is a Georgian style house set in 4 acres of land. Skenfrith Castle is also owned by The National Trust and is a Norman Castle. The keep and motte remain now and this is certainly worth a visit.

Mathew and Tracey purchased The Rising Sun in July 2009 and some alteration have been carried out, the restaurant has been updated, outside both the front door and side door now has an excellent patio area making wheelchair access possible. The Rising Sun, Pandy, Abergaveny is everything you could want from a traditional pub restaurant with two log fires making a pleasant feature in the winter. In the Bar we have a Pool Table and Darts Board. The restaurant is available for private hire and this can seat up to 51 people. Set in beautiful rolling fields, The Rising Sun offers great beer, great food, and a camping and caravan park to the rear of the pub. Traditionally furnished the main bar is warm and inviting and you have the choice to dine here or in the restaurant where you can sit and enjoy delicious home cooked food from our menu. All food is complimented by a full wine list and a selection of Beers, Lagers, Spirits and soft drinks. We have ample parking and have a spacious beer garden with Childrens play area away from the main road, making this the ideal location for a family party or get together. Glen Trothy is set in tranquil secluded countryside in the quiet village of Mitchel Troy , 1½ miles from Monmouth, lying at the portals of two of the most bewitching areas imaginable; the spiralling Wye Valley and the lush Royal Forest of Dean. The countryside is both picturesque and remarkably varied; the whole area steeping in history, castles and abbeys, not forgetting the many varied local attractions. The park it self is peaceful and secluded but easily accessible. The site consists of 6½ acres with the River Trothy, from which it gets its name, flows beside the longest boundary. There are 74 pitches for touring caravans all in one field, and 50 pitches for tent campers spread over a further two fields. All the touring pitches have electric hook-ups, also several in the tenting field (10 amps) and water points. Propane and butane gas and camping gaz are available. The children's play area is centrally situated with swings, climbing frame, play deck and cabin, ladders, a climbing wall and sand pit. Public kiosk. Seasonal pitches occasionally available. Amenities are particularly good, with toilet blocks, excellent hot showers, hand and hairdryers (including sockets for using your own dryers), razor points, laundry facilities, washing up room and chemical disposal point. Caravan and camping site for all, in the picturesque Usk Valley, near to the bustling market town of Abergavenny. All within the boundaries of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Pyscodlyn Farm Caravan and Camping Site is a family run site, situated in the picturesque Usk Valley, near to the bustling market town of Abergavenny. Set within the boundaries of the Brecon Beacons National Park, visitors are treated to spectacular scenery. The site is grass, level and has plenty of trees for shelter. Toilets, showers and laundry facilities are on site. Hot water is always available. There are 30 electric hook-up points (10 amp). Dogs are welcome and an excercise area is provided. There is a modern, six berth caravan for hire. It has a bathroom with toilet and shower, fully equipped kitchen including microwave, fridge and cooker, two bedrooms - 1 double, 1 twin and a bed can also be made up in the living room. All bed linen is supplied and the cost is between £200 - £250 per week. Short breaks are available low season. Abergavenny is a bustling market town. It has a blend of traditional shops and modern supermarkets. Its long and facinating history is reflected in the many features of the town - the Castle, the 11th century Priory Church and the Victorian Town Hall. The Linda Vista Gardens are a delight for all to explore. Walkers - of all abilities are spoilt for choice. Abergavenny's sheltering mountains form a chain, linking the Black Mountains with the Brecon Beacons. The Sugar Loaf Mountain and the River Usk are both within easy walking distance. Exploring the Mon and Brecon Canal provides gentle walks with stunning scenery. The River Usk is famous for its trout and salmon. Tickets can be issued at Pyscodlyn to fish a 1 and a half mile stretch of the river bank. There are also well stocked reservoirs within easy travelling distance. Coarse fishing is available on the local canal. The area is also used for cycling. Abergavenny is included on the Sustrans 42 cycle route. Bike hire can be arranged for you. Mountain bikers are spoilt for choice. The county of Monmouthshire is a haven for golfers. There are two 18 hole courses in Abergavenny and several others within half an hours driving time (including the Celtic Manor which will be hosting the Ryder Cup in 2010). Rates : Please see website. We are situated near the small village of Dingestow which is just 5 miles from Monmouth and the beautiful Wye valley in South Wales. Trefaldu is a working farm on which we can offer you coarse fishing on four lakes. We have a small touring caravan and camping park with room for twelve caravans or tents for the convenience of our patrons. We are situated close to the Wye Valley near Monmouth. The site has a beautiful view of our fishing lakes. Each pitch has electric hook up (10 Amp) and room for an awning and one car. There is, also, a drinking water point and chemical toilet disposal facilities. We have a small toilet block with disabled access and shower. To enable you to spend more time fishing we, also, have a lakeside snack bar serving hot and cold food which is very popular for it's breakfast rolls and burgers. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times because of the livestock. We have a paddock available to exercise them but please clean up after them. We, also, have many walks around the farm; please ask for directions. Fishing tickets for the duration of your stay must be purchased on arrival, available at special rate. Price includes awning, for one vehicle and use of toilet, showers and hot water.For electric hook up its £2 extra and also £2 per extra car. Only perforated ground sheets can be used with awnings. Pen y fan Caravan & Leisure Park is a 42 acre site situated in the heart of the beautiful South Wales eastern valleys. Numerous recognised country walks surround the park suitable for the experienced walker, dog walking or a leisurely stroll. On arrival at reception all customers will be supplied with a Welcome Pack. All the necessary information to access the site through the secure barrier system and general rules and conditions of the Park are contained in the Welcome Pack. The on site public house ' The Travellers Rest' offers Bar meals, snacks and a full a la carte menu, pool room and children's play area. All weather pitches with electric hook ups, two toilet blocks with shower, laundry, baby changing, washing up and Elsan disposal facilities are all available. At Pen y fan Caravan & Leisure Park we have created a touring site in which family holiday - makers can enjoy freedom and adventure coupled with modern amenities such as free hot showers and coin operated laundry/ drying machines. Our park has all weather pitches with electric hook ups and all the pitches are on level ground. we offer a variety of pitches with excellent views of the surrounding countryside. Many of these pitches have parking alongside the caravan, if this would be helpful to you, please let us know when you book. We take safety of our customers very seriously and therefore there is a 5mph speed limit throughout the park with clearly marked speed humps. There is a drop off lay-by for cars adjacent to the reception area. The reception area is served with access ramps and an accessible toilet. The pub/restaurant has level access throughout and an accessible toilet. There is a drop off point on the access road to the pub/restaurant for cars and coaches. Additional accessible toilets are located in the main toilet / shower facility with ramp access. The warden and the Park Director live on site, reception is open 9.30am to 5pm, pub/restuarant is open 12noon - 2.30pm, 7pm - 11pm.(closed on Mondays).Table service is available on request in the restaurant. If you feel you need help at any time during your visit, please mention this to any staff who will be deighted to offer assistance.
