John and Anne Evans would like to introduce our site to you, which opened 2005, we have excellent views across the surrounding countryside with lovely walks along the stream and fields, we are set in 143 acres where you can loose yourself for a while, we have a pets corner with rabbits, chickens,ducks and goats and sometimes miniatures ponies to look at, there are 11 electric hook ups, 6 hard standings,also a smashing area for tents, 3 toilets and 2 showers drinking water, and a elsan point also somewhere to wash the dishes, dogs are welcome but kept on a lead please, we are open all the year round so you can come back time after time, we hope that you will enjoy, and have a relaxing stay on our site, this site is a Camping and Caravanning club site for members Only, but you are able to visit and join on site, if you are interested, we have some lovely places around to eat, also take away's, which some will deliver, lots of places to see and do in the area, it is quite easy to find us, we are close to M1, to J22, head towards A511. Coalville to the Birch Tree Pub and Island, second turning to Hugglescote, over the railway lines, first turning on the left, the gate will open automatically until 8.30 PM after that you will need a code number, or A42 to J13, Ashby de la Zouch, once again head towards Coalville on the bypass A511 to Bardon Aggregates,to wards the Birch Tree Pub and Island, 3rd turning off this Island towards Hugglescote over the railways lines first turning on the left through the gate, follow the drive down by the bungalow turn right, you'll wonder where your going, through some caravans but then, it will all open up to a lovely site. This picturesque and tranquil site is set in the rural Grounds of the Stanford Hall Estate. You are guaranteed a warm welcome and a pleasant stay with our experienced wardens. We get high levels of repeat bookings and you are advised to contact us well in advance of busy weekends to avoid being disappointed. The site offers 123 pitches, on grass (and with a growing number of hard standings) all with electric hook-up (16amp). A limited number of seasonal pitches are available and rallies can be catered for. There is a small site shop selling basic necessities such as bottled gas, chemicals, groceries, bread, milk and ice cream. Newspapers can be ordered daily. Dogs are welcome and a designated dog walk has been established through part of the Estate woodland. We would ask however, that they are kept on a lead whilst on the main site. Visitors staying on the site (for two nights or more) have free admission to the grounds only of Stanford Hall during our normal opening times except on certain Event days. Details of these days can be found at the site office. There is a small charge for admission to the House. In addition to this, course fishing is available free of charge on the River Avon within the main Grounds of the Hall. There are no toilet or shower facilities on site which means each unit must be totally self-contained. There are four conveniently placed service points. We can therefore only permit Caravans and Motor Homes, sorry no tents. The site is ideally situated just one mile from the M1 at junction 19 (to and from the North only), the A14, and the M6 at the M1 (N)/A14 exit. It is the perfect stop-off point when travelling from North to South or East to West and is ideal for many of Midland's attractions, NEC Birmingham (30miles), Stratford Upon Avon (35miles), Warwick Castle (25miles), Silverstone, Rockingham and Mallory Race Circuits and Althorpe which are all within easy reach. Great location for Walkers,Twitchers and Fishing with Jurassic Walk and the Grand Union Canal close by. Rates : £12.00 per unit per night Children are welcome. Pets allowed by arrangement. The Odd House is a family owned freehouse and restaurant serving high quality freshly prepared food at a reasonable price and offering a selection of real ales wines and spirits in a relaxing friendly environment. situated mid-way between coalville and ashby-de-la-zouch, the Inn is located in the heart of the national forest originally a 17th century coaching in, the building has maintained several character features including timber beams and a open fire in the lounge bar enhance the warm and friendly atmosphere. We now have a camp field with a small fishing lake with 12 electric hook ups shower facilities and spaces for tents and non hook up spaces with some hard standings. The price for camping is £10 per night and £5.00 for electric the road runs all around the campsite making it easier for those raining days. Our Restaurant: The pub is located in the heart of the national forest and is situated mid-way between Ashby-De-La-Zouch and Coalville. Originally a 17th century coaching Inn, the building has retained several character features with timber beams and an open fire in the lounge bar enhances the warm and friendly atmosphere. The Bar: the bar stocks a selection of real ales lagers wines spirits and soft drinks, bar meals are served 7 nights a week plus Saturday and Sunday lunch times the menu includes freshly baked baguettes steaks ,burgers salads basket meals all served with homemade chips or potatoes and also children’s menu. Ranksborough Hall, built in 1893 was once the home of Lord Ranksborough, equerry to Queen Victoria. The Estate has been visited many times by Royalty, in particular George V who regularly rode with the local hunt. The Royal Family today visit Burghley House close by, famous for Show Jumping and its historic interest. Visitors to the hall come from far afield as Scotland and Wales with an increasing number from overseas. The grounds, only 20 miles from the M1, and 8 miles from the A1, are relatively easy to travel to. Recent major development to Ranksborough Hall will now be extended to include exclusive holiday lodges for retired people. The park will include a twelve month (all year round) licence, perhaps making this your ideal second home. The grounds will be constructed around a man-made lake set within beutifully landscaped gardens, inkeeping with the remainder of the park. Facilities on the Park Post box; Telephone Close by A few minutes stroll away, the village of Langham hosts two historic public houses, a post office and a village store. There’s ample parking at the hall for those who might prefer to use local transport. A free bus service will take you to local supermarkets... the regular service from Nottingham to Stamford via Melton Mowbray and Oakham, passes at the end of the drive. Medical Oakham, only a five minute bus ride away, includes a GP’s surgery and a Community Hospital. Melton Mowbray, just a short journey away, also has a Community Hospital with outpatient and day surgery facilities.
