Thorncross is a Quiet one acre site in the small hamlet of Thorncross, one mile from the village of Brighstone. It lies half a mile from the coast, in an area of outstanding natural beauty close to the downs and the sea. The site is ideally situated for those Camping and Caravanning Club members wishing to explore the many and varied attractions in this lovely part of the Isle of Wight. The Isle of Wight Cycle Route passes by the front door and walkers can take the Coastal Footpath, which runs, around the entire Island or walk the many other excellent forest and downland trails. We currently do not have washrooms or toilets so the site is best suited to motor homes or touring caravans. However, campers are accepted if they have suitable chemical toilet facilities. Children are most welcome but it is important to note that we do not have designated children’s play area. Farm access is restricted for their safety. The well-spaced pitches are equipped with electric hook ups and water. There is a chemical disposal point and waste bins are provided on site. We allow well-behaved dogs so long as they remain on leads at all times. Dog owners are required to ‘clean up’ and to ensure their pets do not disturb other campers. The site has wide ranging views especially to the north and east. Sunrise over the downs can be most impressive for the early risers! If you walk south for 0.5m to the cliff at Barnes’ high you will see spectacular sunsets to the west beyond Tennyson down and the Needles. We have our own 2.5 acre day ticket Coarse fishery that is open to the experienced angler who will be expected to be fully equipped and abide by the fishery rules. Besides the wonderful beaches there are also many attractions for children including Robin Hill Country Park and Blackgang Chine both within 8 miles. Chine Farm Camping Site is situated on the south side of the Isle of Wight at Cowleaze Chine, which is mid-way between Chale (3 miles) and Brighstone (2.5 miles) on the A3055 coast road - the Military Road. The camp site literally over-looks the sea and the beach, which is part sand and shingle, is reached by a short footpath. The site is on level grassland and has 80 to 100 pitches available for tents, caravans and dormobiles. The area is excellent for sea fishing. We are about half a mile from the Dinosaur Farm Museum which was the HQ for BBC's "Live from Dinosaur Island" programmes. The Dinosaur Farm also has a tea room. The local village of Brighstone is approximately two miles away and has shops for all your general needs plus a public house. Dogs are permitted, provided they are kept on a lead and exercised away from the camp site. The site is level grassland and has 80 to 100 available pitches for tents, caravans and camper vans. We are pleased to offer you camping facilities on our small working farm, overlooking our chine and sandy beach. Grange Farm Brighstone Bay, is situated on the South West coast of the Isle of Wight, approximately 6 miles from Freshwater Bay to the west, and 10 miles from Ventnor to the east. The picturesque village of Brighstone lies half a mile to the north. The whole area is idea for fishing, fossil hunting and cycling, a walkers paradise. There is good access to our sandy beach which is safe for swimming and un-crowded with unpolluted fresh sea air! Static Caravans : The Static Caravans are set on a plateau where the Brighstone Life Boat Station was situated many years ago. All of the Caravans have good views of the Sea and Chine, with very easy access to our sandy beach (see Brighstone Bay). We have 11 Static Caravans on the plateau Ranging from about 3 year olds to oldest approx 10 years, there is also wooden walkways running alongside the Static's. Parents note: There is a cliff edge but for your peace of mind there is a fence in front of the caravans. We do take dogs, but only in 2 of our Static's. Choose from a 6 berth or 8 berth static caravan. All statics have - Lounge: double bed, gas fire and colour TV. Fitted kitchen: fully equipped with gas cooker (4 rings, main oven and grill), fridge, crockery, cutlery etc. Gas, electricity & VAT: all included in the price, this also includes any heating etc. Camping : The camping and caravan site lies in an area which has been designated "an area of outstanding beauty" as is much of the Downs. Tents, motor caravans and touring vans are accepted. The camping site is level and overlooks the sea. There are 60 pitches available in total. Cars are parked beside the tents or caravans. access to the sea is just a short walk (100 yards) down the coastal path. Our shower block comprises of: FREE showers, shaver points, wash basins and toilets. Our small launderette comprises of : a coin operated washing machine, tumble driers, spin drier and ironing facilities. We have dishwashing sinks and laundry sinks also for your use with free hot water and a coin-operated bath as an added luxury! In the Play area there is a play boat, trains, hay-cart, slide, see-saw, rope-bridge, stepping stones, 4 swings & a flat tyre swing. There is a small area for football and cricket etc. The picturesque village of Brighstone lies three quarters of a mile away, and there are - 2 Churches, 2 Pubs, a Tea room, Doctors Surgery, Newsagent, Grocery shop, Hair Dresser, National Trust shop, Museum and a Post Office. Queen Bower Caravan Park is part of a family owned and run working dairy farm set in the heart of the Isle of Wight. The surroundings offer peaceful panoramic views of unspoilt countryside, making Queen Bower an ideal spot for touring caravans or tents. For sun, sea and sand, we are situated approximately 3 miles from the popular seaside towns of Sandown and Shanklin. Other main attractions such as Robin Hill Country Park, Blackgang Chine, Alum Bay to name but a few can be reached within half an hour or so by car. Regular bus services pass the entrance to our site giving convenient access to all parts of the Island. Family run site in beautiful countryside setting overlooking downland. We have two large closely mown camping fields offering plenty of space for children to play with no regimental marked pitches. Carpenters Farm Camping Site is ideally situated on the B3330 road, 3 miles from Ryde and only 1 mile from the village of St. Helens. It is a family run campsite set in a picturesque location, surrounded by rolling downland and close to the beach. The campsite offers uncrowded camping in a relaxed atmosphere. We have no marked pitches (apart from the hook up pitches which are marked for obvious reasons), you are invited to camp where you will. Groups are welcome to pitch together. We have a small, safe children's play area with swings and slide for your children's convenience.
