Daisy Bank Touring Caravan Park, Snead, Montgomery, Powys

Daisy Bank Touring Caravan Park, situated in "The Marches", is beautifully landscaped in a valley surrounded by the Welsh and Shropshire hills. It is close to the historic market town of Bishop's Castle, famous for its real ales.
Montgomery, Welshpool and Ludlow are close by. Further afield: Shrewsbury, Wroxeter Roman City; Ironbridge and Telford.
All fifty-five of our pitches are fully serviced (some sites call them "super pitches"). Each pitch has an electric hook-up, water tap, grey waste drain and in the Roundton and Camlad areas are provided with a TV aerial hook-up with lead (this plugs you into a booster system). The Meadow is better situated for natural tv reception.
We have 3 distinct touring areas :
Roundton - Ringed by mature trees and hedgerow, a birdwatchers paradise. Roundton consists of most level hardstandings, some concrete, some gravel - ideal for motorhomes and large caravans. With mature shrub borders and some south facing pitches; it also offers complete shelter in stormy and windy weather, so is perfect for winter caravanning.
Camlad - By comparison, our Camlad area has a completely open aspect with superb south facing views over the Camlad Valley - more of an open parkland setting. Pitches here are mostly gravel hardstanding. Some pitches gently sloping, some with wheel pits for horizontal levelling. There is a level gravel hardstanding area for motorhomes.
The Meadow - Our newest area, opened in late summer 2003 and proving very popular. All pitches are gravel hardstandings and offer full services, except for tv aerial hook-ups. Normal tv reception is available, using a vertically polarised antenna. Please note, old type status aerials (horizontally polarised) will not be effective. This is an extremely open aspect with those Camlad valley views, as the screening hedgerows and shrubs are yet young!
Our prices are fully inclusive for caravan, two people, car, all services, awning, hot water and showers. There are no hidden extras.
Pet owners - we do have a small charge for dogs. Grey waste drain hose is sold at Reception. If you wish to connect directly to your tap, please remember that the kits sold at caravan accessory outlets are sometimes a little stingey with the length of hose provided.
For Disabled Customers : We are committed to providing disability -friendly facilites here at Daisy Bank and are working towards that aim. Our new toilet, washrooms are completely disability friendly. One of the units has a wider door to accommodate wheelchair users. We welcome constructive criticism from our disabled guests. The park itself, however, has gravel roads. This is not so friendly for basic wheelchairs, which often have thin rimmed wheels. Motorised chairs, however, seem to cope better. Our reception building and information hut do need some adaptation for wheelchair access. We are constantly upgrading and improving access, so please talk to us about your needs and we promise to be honest about what we can and cannot provide. Please remember that improvements cost money, some take longer to accomplish than others.
On site facilities : Our Award winning toilet block is sited between Roundton and Camlad. We were awarded five stars and declared National Winner (Wales) in the Holiday and Caravan Park category in the 2004 "Loo of the Year Awards 2004". They consist of centrally heated wet rooms. Each room has a self draining shower area, toilet and washbasin/vanity unit. All units are suitable for disabled persons - there being no steps, cubicles or curtains. Couples can use these together as they would a personal bathroom. We also provide a laundry area and drying room.
Putting green : We have a our nine-hole putting green - free to all our customers. Balls and putters available in the Information Hut.
Information hut : The Information hut itself has a payphone (available 24hrs) and is supplied and updated regularly by all the major tourist bodies, with leaflets showing details of local attractions.
Shopping : For your day to day needs, Harry Tuffins supermarket is situated in Churchstoke, one and a half miles from the site. It is a large complex offering most food items at reasonable prices, a post office, pound store, hairdresser, cafe, launderette and separate butcher.
There is a market and car boot sale behind the store every Sunday.
For more specialist shopping we would suggest Ludlow or Shrewsbury (home of brother Cadfael). Incidentally, the new Bullring in Birmingham is only just over an hour's drive from here.
Rates : £15-£20 all inclusive for fully serviced pitch.
