Cove Park is a small and peaceful caravan and camping park, with wonderful views across Ullswater in the Lake District. We are sheltered by trees and the Cumbrian fells, with a backdrop of Barton Fell and High Street. Ullswater is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful Lakes. We are superbly situated for all Lakeland activities and all of the Northern Lakes attractions. If you are looking for somewhere as a base for walking or touring, or a place to rest and relax, Cove Park is the perfect location for you. The park is very well maintained, and we are very proud of our Awards and Tourist Board ratings. These are given out annually, so our hard work carries on all season, to maintain the highest standards. Our regular visitors all year round are the wonderful wild birds, badgers, foxes, and of course our resident red squirrels. The Children's play area offers our younger visitors a safe environment to let off steam. Dogs are most welcome at Cove, (on a lead on the Park please) and we have our own woodland area and fields for exercising. We do not have a "bar" or "club house" at Cove Park, however, there are many very good local restaurants and pubs in the area, which we will be happy to recommend to you. Park Foot is a family run park situated beside Lake Ullswater and approximately one mile from Pooley Bridge. Set in magnificent scenery, our site accommodates touring caravans, tents and dormobiles. (Electric hook-up on request). A Holiday at Park Foot combines an idyllic setting with so much to see and do. Enjoy an action packed holiday or do nothing at all, the choice is yours. Take a swim in the lake or launch your boat from the private beach by the Lakeside, walk on the fells, fish on the Lake, or go Pony Trekking, or mountain bike riding - the possibilities are endless. Electric Hook up pitches are available on grass or hard standing to accommodate touring caravans, tents and dormobiles. Car Parking is next to your pitch. There are also drinking water taps placed conveniently around the site. We have three fields for camping within the main park area. One of the fields is situated below the shop and contains the electric hook ups, another is situated below the club and accommodates tents and dormobiles. Fisherground Campsite is set right in the heart of Eskdale, one of Cumbria's loveliest valleys. Here on the West side of the Lake District we get less rain and more sun than our famous cousins the other side of Scafell. In this quiet valley there is still the Peace and Tranquility that should be Lakeland - but rarely is in the bustling centres. Here there are still more sheep than people. Peace is the watchword on the Campsite too. We are a quiet family site and every effort is made to ensure silence after 10.30pm. As we don't take bookings, except for the electric hook ups, we look forward to welcoming you when you arrive. The Service Block is modern, clean, airy and spacious. For each sex there are : 4 washbasins 4 showers (50p coin-op) hand drier (warm air) hairdryer 5 flush toilets (ladies) and 4 toilets plus 3 urinals (men's) There are also 6 deep sinks for washing-up. Hot water is free throughout (except the showers) and always available. Laundry : The Laundry has a washing machine, three tumble driers and an ironing board with an iron. Most of the machines are coin operated and take 50p's. We also have a new boot drier for those of you who love walking whatever the weather. Cleaning : The Service Block is cleaned routinely throughout the day and is maintained to the highest standards. There is also a freezer available to freeze your ice packs. The Adventure Playground : A children's paradise, with rafts on the pond, a tree house, a zip wire, Tarzan ropes, and an adventure course. The Beeches Caravan Park is a small, quiet park in a peaceful village, 5 miles north of Cockermouth, Cumbria. Luxury static caravans are available for hire on a weekly basis or for short breaks. The park is open all year round. There is a shop / Post Office, laundry room and a large children's play area on site. The caravans are spaciously set out in attractive landscaped grounds with car parking by each caravan. A 5mph speed limit is in operation around the park. Superb food and drink are available at The Masons' Arms nearby. They also offer take-aways. In the village is a trout farm, riding school, and numerous walks are possible in the area. The Park has fantastic views over the Solway Firth with spectacular sunsets. It is an ideal position for visiting the northern lakes including Derwentwater, Bassenthwaite Lake, Borrowdale and Keswick and also the quieter western lakes, Ennerdale, Loweswater, Crummock and Buttermere. The caravans are fully equipped, all with excellent standards. Facilities include: toilet, shower, full kitchen (with fridge, gas cooker, microwave, crockery & cutlery, pots & pans), colour TV, continental quilts and pillows. Cross Dormont camping and caravan site is situated within Cumbria's Lake District National Park. The family run site is located on a working hill farm with pastures skirting the southern shore of Ullswater. Set in this area of magnificent scenic splendour the site provides an ideal base for such activities as hill-walking, fishing, cycling, mountain-biking and sailing, or for simply lazing in tranquillity and peace, (on or off the site) with views of the lake and the surrounding hills and mountains. We cater for tents, caravans, dormobiles and can accommodate large and small parties. The site is also available for weddings. The M6 motorway is approximately 20 minutes drive away as is the A66. The attractive village of Pooley Bridge, about one mile away at the northern tip of Ullswater, has grocery stores, public houses and cafes, as well as the lake steamer terminal. The Howtown ferry stop is about two miles away. The site has toilets, showers, washing-up facilities and water points. Small boats and dinghies can be launched from the fields skirting the lake. This lake frontage is also available to fishermen. A public footpath giving access to the fells runs through the farm. There are local outlets for the hire of bikes and pony trekking is also available on a local basis. The bustling market town of Penrith is about 15 to 20 minutes drive away, or can be reached by the Royal Mail bus. Penrith offers a range of shops, many of which are quite unique, with themes reflecting the locality. Other amenities include restaurants, banks, and a town cinema. Tuesday sees a traditional market in the town and a large market and car boot sale is held at the cattle mart on Saturdays. A Lakeland visitor centre is situated to the west of the town.
