Hidden deep in the heart of the countryside nestles an 18th Century mill and country farm where the treasures of farming and country life lie waiting to be discovered. There is something for everyone at Sacrewell, from friendly farm animals and play areas to the working watermill and farm bygones. With the visitor centre spread over 35 acres you can always enjoy the feeling of space and rural tranquillity, whether you have come to visit for the day or are staying on the attractive campsite. Tractor rides around the 550-acre working farm are always popular, or you can walk one of the farm trails. Children have a choice of indoor or outdoor play areas to keep them amused once they have fed the animals. Sacrewell Farm and Country Centre provides an attractive and interesting venue, with superb facilities for a variety of camping or caravanning activities. General Camp Site : Those wanting normal camping facilites can make use of a level camping area with hedge line shelter, just a short stroll from the visitor centre and its conveniences. Electrical hook ups are available for an additional £2.50 per night. Group Camp Site : With the variety of walks, trails, woodlands and waterways at Sacrewell, many groups choose to stay at Sacrewell. The toilet facilities available here are separate from other facilities, making it the ideal place for Cubs, Scouts, Brownies, Guides, Schools and Field Trippers. The price of £6 per adult and £4.50 per child per night is charged for prebooked groups of ten or more, this can include a camp fire site by arrangement. Entry to the farm centre is included in this price. Rallies : Groups from all over Europe have organised stays at Sacrewell. Stroud Hill Park is a privately owned, exclusively adult, touring caravan site in Pidley, Cambridgeshire. The quiet, attractive, rural site provides a central Cambridgeshire location for touring caravans and campers. The site has been awarded 5 pennants by the AA, 5 stars by the English Tourist Board and 5 stars by the Loo of the Year scheme. At the heart of the site is a green oak timber-framed building which houses reception, a shop, café, bar and restaurant along with the excellent toilets and showers. The site is built to accommodate the disabled. There are 54 pitches (44 hard standing and 10 grass pitches), all with electric hook up, drinking water and an individual ground level drain to accept grey water. The site is naturally sheltered and set in ancient bluebell woodland on the 150-acre family farm. The farm is grassland and arable with 11 acres of woodland, which provides a wonderful habitat for many birds and other wildlife. A recent RSPB survey found around 50 species of bird life, some rare, making this an interesting location for bird watching. Set in old quarry workings and within a site of special scientific interest, this site has been imaginatively landcaped to create the impression of being in the heart of the countryside while only a ten-minute bus journey (½ mile from site) to the city centre. Guided walking tours are an excellent way of soaking up the academic atmosphere of the medieval colleges and open-top bus tours will take you all around the city and out to the American War Cemetery. Alternatively you can take a punt along The Backs on the River Cam to see colleges like Corpus Christi, Magdelene and the Bridge of Sighs. A visit to King's College Chapel is a must. Important Information For those Members who wish to arrive on New Years Day, please note that the Site Office will be closed.
