Welcome to Myrus Caravan Site, Aberdeenshire - a quiet, privately owned park in the North East of Scotland. This is a great place to relax and is also a superb base for exploring the many attractions of the beautiful Moray Firth, Aberdeenshire and Banff and Buchan area and coastline. Myrus Caravan Park has recently been completely renovated with newly laid out pitches to accomodate touring and motor caravans. The caravan site is now fully family owned which means we can bring a personal touch and higher quality experience often lacking from larger caravan parks. A substantial investment has been made in both infrastructure and landscaping over the past few years and will continue. Future plans include the possible building of log cabins, barbeque area and further landscaping, as well as a continued commitment to visitors requiring static caravans, space for tourers, motor homes and campers. We’ll always be available to help you plan your stay and your visits to places of interest. The entire site has catered for disabled people with access to all facilities including the shop, laundry and toilet facilities. The Disabled Persons Suite has just been completely re-fitted to a very high standard. The washing facilities are second to none. They are kept spotlessly clean and provide unrivalled quality. The Ladies and Gents washrooms are designed to give you as much privacy as possible. This is achieved by installing private cubicles with washhand basins and separate cubicles for showers. There are hairdryers and shaver points provided. There is a small shop on site that provides basic essentials including bottled gas. A fully stocked convenience store is less than a 15 minute walk away. There is a communal barbecue area planned with picnic tables provided in the centre of the site. Charcoal may also be available in the on-site shop subject to demand. Set in lovely surroundings, our caravan park has a number of static holiday caravans which can accommodate up to 6 people. Our static caravans are luxury holiday homes you will feel at home in from the moment you step through the door. There has been no compromise on comfort and the feeling of space is superb. Our holiday homes represent real value for money without compromise. Some of the many standard features include 35mm internal doors, vaulted ceilings, seamless shower cubicle and bay window. Quality comes as standard in this spacious and stylish holiday home which is ideal for the entire family. These luxurious holiday homes have heating in all rooms, colour tv, video as well as a gas fire in the lounge. The kitchen area is fully equipped with gas hob and oven, fridge with mini freezer and microwave. The bathroom includes a sink, toilet and shower, a real home from home. On site there is a fully equipped laundry with automatic washing machines, tumble dryer and ironing faciltities. Myrus caravan site welcomes you to the beautiful Moray Firth. Our touring and motor caravan faciltities are second to none. We offer a state of the art heated toilet block including a disabled shower room and a fully equipped spacious laundry. Please note that for the comfort of our more mature holidaymakers, the touring and motorhomes section is only open to adults. You are guaranteed a friendly welcome from our wardens Janet & Bill. We have at present 23 newly laid out pitches for touring and motor caravans, all pitches being spacious with either grass or hardstanding available. All our pitches have a 16 amp electric hook-up with the majority having satellite TV-hook up. There are also a number of super pitches with their own water, waste, electric and satellite TV hook ups. Resident proprietors Dennis and Adrian welcome you to their family-run caravan park. Situated just one mile West off the A96 Aberdeen - Inverness trunk road at Kintore, the park is just 13 miles from Aberdeen, in the centre of 'castle country' and on Scotland's Castle Trail in the Gordon District. Hillhead Caravan Park has twenty nine touring pitches, eighteen of which have electric hook-ups. The Thistle Award Holiday homes are all fully serviced and in a quiet wooded setting on level grass. There is a central outdoor children's play area, a reception and a large shop which also houses a pay phone. The toilet block has excellent facilities including integrated facilities for the disabled, a launderette and indoor campers washing-up area; a charge is made for the launderette facility but no charge is made for the hot water. Hillhead Caravan Park is a fantastic touring base, as the famed castle trail is rite on your doorstep - leading to your fairy tale castles like Craigievar and great historic houses like Haddo, where Prince Edward often performs in theatrical productions in the hall. The only malt whisky trail in the world takes you into the Grampian Highlands with its beautiful rugged scenery. The Royal Deeside and the Queen's Scottish residence at Balmoral are but a short drive away, taking you through both Donside and Deeside. The rivers Don and Dee give you excellent fishing opportunities. If golf is your thing then choose from twenty five beautiful courses all within half an hours drive, and three of these are virtually on your doorstep. Wester Bonnyton Farm Site is a quiet farm site in open countryside enjoying panoramic views over the Moray Firth and surrounding country. The site has static holiday caravans and serviced pitches with hook up facilities for tents and tourers. The local beaches are within 2 miles. For the children, there is scope to experience a safe farm environment with cats, dogs, chickens, cows and ponies. In addition there is a play area with swings, see-saw, activity frame and a barn with table tennis and a pool table. Tractor and trailer rides around the farm for the kids are frequent, dependant only on the weather. Shop : A shop is open twice daily for provisions and sweets. Fresh bread and rolls, milk and newspapers can be ordered daily. Calor gas is available. Laundry & Toilet Facilities : The fully serviced toilet block has toilets, showers and wash hand basins. The laundry room has commercial washing machines, tumble driers and ironing facilities. There is an adjoining drying green. Static Caravans : All static caravans are fully serviced with toilets and showers and have gas for heating and cooking. Kitchens are fully equipped including microwave ovens. Colour TV is supplied. The site is on the fringe of the village of Braemar, 1100 feet above sea level, and the eastern gateway to the Cairngorms, an ideal centre for walkers and mountain bikers (mountain bikes can be hired locally). Herds of red deer roam freely and you may also glimpse capercaillie, red squirrels and badgers, golden eagles and herons. Braemar is the scene of the annual Highland Gathering, usually attended by members of the Royal Family and held on the first Saturday in September. The site opens in December for the Winter Sports season, is purpose-built for family skiers, and is close to Glenshee (9 miles) with its snow cannons. For some spectacular scenery, take the high road to Tomintoul for a view of the countryside towards the rugged coastline and sea beyond. Ideally situated for exploring Banff and Buchan, this pleasant farm site has excellent facilities including shower and toilet block and laundry facilities. Tourers and tents are most welcome and electric hookups are available. Our pitch price is all inclusive. The site specialises in providing a quiet, peaceful environment with plenty of space for visitors. A secure area for pitching is also available for visitors who may be worried about their excited pets wandering off to explore. Rallies welcome. Wifi access point. Games room and campers kitchen with refuge room with TV and chairs. Offsite facilities include : Food Shop 3m, bar/pub 3m, restaurant 3m, takeaway food 3m, indoor heated pool 15m, outdoor heated pool 15m, tennis courts 15m, fishing 3m, golf course 5m, horse riding 10m, water sports 10m, sandy beach 5m. We are located on a main cycle route. The new Bike Bothy is open for use in 2008, comprising a bunk bed x 2 single birth, with TV and electric socket. Ideal for cyclists too tired to bother putting up their tent! Access to the camper's kitchen is included in the bOthy rental rate of £15.50 per night. Own bedding is required, as mattress only supplied. We would like to state that we are not members of the Scottish Tourist Board Caravan park grading system. We belive by not paying there fees we are able to offer better rates and have superior facilities in several areas to those that are stated on the tourist board grading requirements list.
